Overview
The BUG-O SE-2PTD is a programmable pass-through pipe cutting machine designed for cutting saddles, offset saddles, laterals, miter cuts, holes and custom shapes in pipe. It is a computer-controlled machine that helps eliminate the need for templates, complex manual layout and time-consuming calculations.
The machine provides dual programming capabilities. A dedicated pipe program is used for standard pipe cuts such as saddles, offset saddles, laterals, miters and holes, while a second selectable shape program allows the user to cut customized shapes in pipe. Windows-based software is also available for programming.
The SE-2PTD can be configured for oxy-fuel cutting, plasma cutting or both. It is designed for pass-through cutting of pipe from 1″ to 4″ / 25 to 100 mm O.D., and pipe from 4″ to 14″ / 100 to 355 mm can be externally chucked by clamping the inside diameter of the pipe. With pipe weight capacity up to 375 lb / 170 kg when properly supported, the SE-2PTD is a practical solution for pipe fabrication, nozzle preparation, branch connections and repeated pipe profiling work.
The main technical advantage of the BUG-O SE-2PTD is that it combines programmable pipe cutting with pass-through pipe capability. This allows the user to process pipe sections by passing the pipe through the machine, while also externally chucking larger pipe diameters when required.
The dual programming architecture improves productivity. The pipe program handles common pipe fabrication cuts such as saddle cuts, offset saddle cuts, laterals, miters and holes. The shape program allows customized irregular shapes to be programmed, saved and repeated, reducing the need for manual layouts and templates.
The machine uses two coordinated axes to help maintain constant torch travel speed. This is important because cutting speed changes according to cut shape and pipe size. Coordinated motion gives the operator more controlled and repeatable cutting conditions than manual torch movement.
The SE-2PTD also supports both plasma and oxy-fuel configurations. When used for plasma cutting, the machine includes a rotary ground and external contactor relay to turn the plasma torch on and off automatically. When used for oxy-fuel cutting, it can be equipped with solenoids for a 3-hose cutting torch, allowing the cutting oxygen to be controlled automatically.
The worktable-mounted format gives the machine a stable production base, while the optional mechanical elevating table adds mobility and height adjustment. This makes the SE-2PTD practical for workshops that need both controlled setup and operational flexibility.
The BUG-O SE-2PTD is designed for pipe fabrication operations where repeatable pipe profiles, holes and custom shapes must be cut accurately. It is suitable for saddle cuts, offset saddle cuts, lateral cuts, miter cuts, hole cuts and custom irregular shapes.
Typical applications include pipe fabrication, branch connection preparation, nozzle preparation, process piping, sprinkler pipe preparation, structural pipe work, industrial maintenance, fabrication workshops and production environments where manual layout would slow down workflow.
The pass-through design makes the SE-2PTD particularly useful where pipe must pass through the machine during cutting. For larger short sections, pipe can also be externally chucked by clamping the inside diameter.
The SE-2PTD is a strong choice for companies that need programmable pipe cutting with pass-through capability. It bridges the gap between manual pipe layout and larger automated pipe cutting systems by giving operators a controlled, programmable platform for common and custom pipe cuts.
For fabrication teams, the commercial value is reduced setup time, fewer templates, fewer manual calculations, improved repeatability and better control over recurring pipe cuts. The ability to save custom shapes also supports repeat production and reduces reprogramming work.
For companies that need flexibility, the SE-2PTD is also attractive because it can be configured for plasma, oxy-fuel or both. This allows the machine to fit different cutting processes, material requirements and workshop preferences.
